Steven J. Brown
President

As co-founder and president of National Strategies Group, Mr. Brown brings over 18 years of investigative experience to the organization. Beginning his career as a loss-prevention specialist of a major US retail chain, he successfully worked his way through the industry ranks as he was promoted to senior loss prevention specialist, then to loss prevention manager. After some years in retail investigations, Brown decided to further his expertise and accepted an entry-level position as a private investigator. With his innate skill and natural ease in the investigative arena, Brown was quickly recognized by his superiors and promoted to the positions of investigations supervisor, national account manager, and, finally, to regional operations manager. Mr. Brown brings a wealth of hands-on knowledge to each and every case. NSG owes much of its success to his unwavering focus on client service, which ensures that each client is provided with not only superior results but an industry-unheard-of customer experience.

Bernard P. Caplan, Jr.
Vice President

Mr. Caplan has a well known reputation in the business community as he is no stranger to corporate acquisitions, business growth, and risk management. His business portfolio has been perfected for over twenty years and is comprised of successful ventures ranging from small businesses to major corporations. Caplan’s responsibilities include managing NSG’s sizable national and international accounts, developing regional marketing teams, and overseeing all Corporate Advantage Resources, among other duties. His business acumen and knack for success has launched NSG to the industry forefront.

Katie L. Odo
Secretary

An up-and-coming business woman, Ms. Odo has made her footprint in the corporate world upon receiving her degree from Western Maryland College in 2003. Because of her keen eye for numbers and financial management, she has developed a proven track record of revitalizing under-performing companies. Ms Odo’s responsibilities include daily office-by-office financial reporting, cash management, tax reporting, and administration of all sales and expansion for NSG.

Michael Coale
Director of Operations, Colorado Division

As President of Coale Investigations, Mr. Coale has built a solid reputation in the state of Colorado. Coales primary focus is overseeing and developing the NSG mid-west region, as well as client service and enhancing our strategic audit programs. Mr. Coale has over 12 years of professional experience, in computer technology, security monitoring and compliance.

Christopher Kaszak
Director of Executive Protection

With over 16 years experience in public law enforcement, assets protection, protective services, investigations and crime prevention. Christopher is a graduate of the Anne Arundel County Police Academy. Kaszak has completed training by the Department of Homeland Security, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, Baltimore County Police, Baltimore City Police, Maryland State Police, Maryland State’s Attorneys Office, Multijurisdictional Drug Enforcement Task Force, Interview and Interrogation, Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services, Maryland Crime Prevention Institute and the American Society for Industrial Security. Kaszak is a certified Personal Protection Specialist and graduate of the Executive Protection Institute, and was a former provisional instructor certified by the Maryland Police and Corrections Training Commission. During Kaszak’s public law enforcement and private sector career, he has conducted numerous criminal and civil investigations, conducted physical security site surveys for both residential and commercial clients, provided assets protection and physical security services to both government and private clients including major events, provided protective services to celebrities and entertainers, high net worth clients and political figures, provided workplace violence protective services, and has developed course material, lesson plans and taught threat assessments to students of Sexton Executive Security’s 7 day Personal Protection Specialist Training, a program accredited by the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services.
